What a great week for the Niue Powerlifting Federation. The example set by this Federation is phenomenal. We travelled to the XVII Pacific Games
as CDM, Asst CDM and athlete. We left Honiara decorated with achievements that we worked hard for. The support from our Oceania Federations were tremendous.
**Tony Edwards, Sidney Lui & Maxine Edwards selected as Technical Officials for the XVII PG2023
**Tony Edwards - elected as the Oceania Regional Powerlifting Federation - ORPF President. He also takes on the role as a board member of the IPF
**Sidney Lui - elected as the ORPF Secretary General
**Samuel Singh - won bronze (83kg cat) first time ever in the history of Niue in the sport at the Pacific Games level
**Tony Edwards, Sidney Lui & Maxine Edwards were certified as IPF Referees. All are eligible to referee ALL IPF Powerlifting meets including the IPF World Championships
We took ownership of the running of this sport for PG23. We did everything to ensure the sport ran well. From unloading the container of equipment, assembled all warm up equipment, administrators, MC, technical controllers, recorders and sorting meals. This is above our duties as officials and athletes for Niue.
But this is how you measure success in a small and humble Federation like ours. When you have the drive from your President, there is no way we can get nowhere. Congratulations Team NPL. Awesome achievements in one week. Loud shout outs to our Patron, Treasurer and our NPL FAMILIES and sponsors back in Niue
